KOTA KINABALU: Malaysia recorded another Covid-19 death in Johor, bringing the total of deaths nationwide to 17.

Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre said case #1,251 was a 66-year-old Malaysian with a chronic medical history.

He became symptomatic before being admitted to the Sultanah Aminah Specialist Hospital in Muar on Mar 20.

He arrived at the Emergency Department in critical condition and needed breathing assistance. He was found positive on Mar 21.

His condition deteriorated day by day until he died at 4.10am on Wednesday. The cause of his infection is still being investigated.
