KOTA KINABALU: The SK Penampang preschool near here has been closed for two weeks after a pupil allegedly contracted Covid-19.

Sabah Education Department director Mistirine Radin said the school, which has 50 preschoolers and two teachers, is awaiting instructions from the health department if they have to undergo home quarantine or screening.

“For now, the school will be closed for sanitisation and quarantine until Aug 18, ” she said.

Health officials have yet to release the latest number of cases in the state as of 4.30pm, Wednesday (Aug 5).

Sabah’s Covid-19 cases remain at 400 as of Aug 4.

A total of 16 patients comprising five in Penampang, four in Kota Kinabalu, two each in Sandakan and Tawau and one each in Papar, Kota Belud and Tuaran are still undergoing treatment for the virus.
