SINGAPORE: Singapore's health ministry confirmed on Monday (April 20) an additional 1,426 cases of Covid-19 (coronavirus) infection, a record daily jump that took the city-state's tally to 8,014.

The ministry said the vast majority of the new cases were among migrant workers living in dormitories.

Among these, 16 are Singaporeans and permanent residents, while the majority continue to be foreign workers living in dormitories.

MOH said it is still working through the details of the cases and will provide further updates on Monday night. - The Straits Times/Asian News Network
